Tributes of Love
HORACE…. Tuck…. We met in November 1964 shortly after I moved to Milwaukee. Your cousin and my aunt made the connection and the Lord did the rest. It was love that kept us as one according to your word. For fifty-nine years, nine months, one week and five days of marriage. I thank God for our life together. The Lord has called you to your rest and our story has ended. My love you will be missed, but loved always. I will cherish our memories in my heart always. Tuck, thank you for our journey together. -Your wife, Uneeda
DADDY as your firstborn, I want to honor the man who taught me some of life’s greatest lessons without always speaking them aloud. You may not have often said “I love you”, but you showed it everyday through your actions. You were a hardworking man, a dedicated provider and a role model who strength, integrity and commitment to his family has never wavered. You led by example, demonstrating the value of responsibility, perseverance and sacrifice. The love you gave was found in the long hours you worked, the opportunities you provided, and the steady presence you maintained throughout our lives. I am grateful for the foundation you built for our family and for example you set. Your legacy lives on in the values you instilled and the countless ways you showed your love through what you did for our family. For that I am forever grateful – Love You Always, Kecia
DADDY I thank you for your consistency in every aspect of my life… The bible emphasizes consistency with steadfastness, faithfulness and perseverance. Through you I know that actions speaks much louder than words. Most importantly, I thank you for showing me your consistency with your love for the Lord. You were not the loudest one in the church, you actually sat quietly in the pews, but you showed up every Sunday. Thank you for your consistency with your love and support. We always knew that you would be there. You went to every funeral, birthday celebration and always checked in on the sick. Thank you for being consistent with your love for momma, your children, your siblings and the entire family. Thank you for entrusting me with your empire. Consistently giving me priceless words of wisdom, teaching me when to be compassionate with tenants vs when to stand firm. You’ve run a good race. Leaving a little piece of wisdom in every room you’ve exit. Those who were smart knew that there was a lesson to be learned with every encounter. I am blessed to have picked up as many of those pieces of wisdom jewels that I could collect. I did my best to consistently honor you through my actions. You’ve taught me well and my course is complete. I always gave you reassurance by telling you to not worry about the houses by saying “everything is taken care of”. You would repeat “everything is taken care of” and I would end with Yup. Well Daddy…. Everything is taken care of….. Job Well Done! Now take your rest. We got it from here…. -Angie
DADDY I had the privilege of witnessing the example you set for our family. You led with strength and determination qualities that will continue to guide me even though you are no longer physically here. As not only your granddaughter, but your oldest grandchild, I am especially grateful for the lessons you the lessons you taught through your actions. By not only telling me “if you work, you don’t eat”, you showed the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the responsibility of caring for a protecting those we love. Those lessons have shaped who I am and will stay with me for the rest of my life. While my heart is heavy with sadness, I am grateful for the years we shared, the memories we created, and the strong foundation you built for our family. Your life was a blessing, your dedication was a gift, and your legacy will continue to live on through all of us. The lessons you taught me will never be forgotten. Thank you, Grandad, for being our provider, our protector, and our example. I love you, I will miss you, and I will carry your strength, wisdom and love with me every day. -Rest peacefully. Molisa (Mo)
GRANDADDY You were the most hard-working man I know. Your strength, dedication and love inspired everyone around you. I am so grateful for the memories we shared and the lessons you taught me. Though you may no longer be here with us, you’ll forever be in my heart. I will miss you every day and will always carry your love and legacy with me. -Lil Jada
GRANDAD I appreciate the times I experienced with my grandad and times he was there for me. He always cared for me and wanted to help me even after coming home tired from working hard. We shared memories like when he came from work, he would buy a pack of grapes. He knew grapes were my favorite and he said they were for me. Or when I dropped my ice cream and he offered to buy me a new one or when we would eat popsicles together. When I walked into the room and he would say “My Skylar”. Those were the type of moments I loved. I love and miss you Grandaddy. -Skylar
DADDY Although you were a man of few words, so much was said by examples you displayed throughout my life. No words could ever express how grateful I am for all you’ve done for me and our family. You’ve been one of the greatest influences in my life. By example, you’ve shown me that determination, hard work and the ability to do what needs to be done leads to a sense of pride. Through guidance, you’ve shown me how to be strong and independent. By influence you’ve shaped me into the person I am today. Your life lessons will continue to motivate me for the rest of my life. For this I say thank you. I am forever grateful for the foundation you built for our family. Your legacy will live on in the values you’ve instilled in me and the person you’ve helped me become. Daddy, I will miss and love you always. -Michelle
DADDY Thank you for maintaining the strong roots of our family and for showing us what it means to work hard, provide for those you love, and live with integrity. I am so grateful for the example you set and for the way you always encouraged us to strive to be our best selves. Your love, wisdom and quiet strength helped shape the person I am today. I love you and although I will miss you, your legacy will live on in all of us, and you will never be forgotten. Your granddaughter Jazz
GRANDAD I am so honored and grateful for the years we shared together. Thank you for showing me what hard work and dedication truly look like. You taught our family giving up is never an option. No matter what, you got up every day and worked. Even when there wasn’t any work to do, you found work to do. Whenever I felt like giving up, I thought about you getting up every day and making it count. That became my motivation to keep going. I will carry your memory with me through every accomplishment, and I know you’ll be watching over me with pride. Thank you for your wisdom, love and leadership. I love you, Grandad and you will be deeply missed until we meet again. -Mayanna
GRANDAD It’s hard to find words that can express the sadness that I am feeling right now. Because of you I know what it looks like to be the provider of a family. I saw the results of hard work. In your words “if you work hard then you can buy nice things”. I knew that every time I saw you, I was always going to walk away from you laughing because you would always say something funny. I know that you were passionate about your love for your family and working on your properties. You were reliable, we knew that you would show up for every celebration. Our family did not want for anything. Thank you for everything and I will continue to live out the values that I have learned. I love you and will forever miss you. -Vonnie
GRANDAD I miss you so much already. It comforts me to know you’re no longer in pain. I’m thankful that God gave me a chance to see firsthand what hard work and providing for my family mean. Growing up, I didn’t fully understand why you were the first to wake up until I spent a day with you visiting your rental properties and working alongside you. Those lessons continued to guide me as a father, husband and leader. Thank you for being yourself, leaving a lasting legacy I can pass on to my son. I love you and hope I made you proud. -Mal
