The Legacy of our Beloved
the Sacred Reading
Daniel - Chief Advisor to the Kings of Babylon and Persia, a son of Judah's nobility, born in Israel, was taken into captivity as a youth during the early Babylonian exile. The records of his parents were not able to be preserved in the captivity of Babylon but was noted for hi remarkable character at his first appearance in the Kings's court at roughly age 16. Though removed from his homeland, he remained steadfast in his devotion to the God of Israel, refusing to defile himself even in the courts of foreign kings. Gifted with wisdom and divine insight, Daniel rose to prominence under multiple empires, serving in the courts of Babylon and Persia with integrity and excellence as Chief of the Persian Astrologers, Magicians, Diviners, Wisemen and the Magee for over 50 years. Through him, God revealed mysteries, interpreted dreams, and unveiled visions concerning kingdoms, times, and the unfolding of future events. He endured persecution for his faith, most notably being cast into the Lions’ Den, where God miraculously preserved his life — demonstrating divine authority over both nature and kings.
Recorded in the Tanakh as both a statesman and prophet, Daniel stands as a witness to faithfulness in exile and divine revelation in foreign lands. Daniel is lessor known for his powerful Last days prophecies, ending - when he was given the Seven Seal book to seal up until the time of the end, the same book the lamb opens in Revelation 6. Daniel's life demonstrates that the kingdom of God prevails over all earthly powers, and that those who remain faithfulwill be upheld by divine authority. The Holy Spirit used Daniel so impactfully, that it was determined this Daniel would be eternally memorialized in what the World would come to know as "The Bible".
His own book in the Bible - the Book of Daniel, 12 chapters in length records many prophecies, with the most 2 notable: Daniel's prophecy of Christ's birth 600 years before his was born. Teaching the Wisemen he was Chief over how to identify the Messiah by his Star, those wisemen passed this down to latter wisemen trained in their truths. 6 generations of Wisemen later, these Men travelled from Persia to Bethlehem and witnessed the new Born Messiah just as Daniel had taught their fathers.
The Book of Daniel also records His most sobering prophecies about the Worlds' Last Days, the rise of the antichrist and "One World Order", the tribulation, persecution and redemption of "those who know Their God". Daniel is also referenced by various other contemporaries and latter generations for the Prophetic Word of God in him and is recorded in: Ezekiel 14:14, 20 & 28:3; Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14.
Daniel leaves behind no recorded descendants, yet his legacy endures through generations as a prophet whose words continue to shape understanding of current events by the recorded divine prophecy he obediently preserved to reveal God’s sovereign rule over all nations. Daniel will forever be remembered for unwavering faith, disciplined prayer, moral integrity, and prophetic revelation. At age 80, Daniel passed from life to death in his private Royal Hillside Quarters outside the Eastern Gates of Shushan.
Daniel's eternal reward from labor he diligently rendered unto God . . . . . and in whom's presence he even now stands - was joyfully received on the 13th of Nissan, 540BC.
We praise this Great God for our Beloved Daniel.
